Once, there was a new student who was instructed by his teacher to take water near a well located behind the college.
The student rushed back to carry out the assigned task. Without thinking long or studying the situation around there, his mind and footsteps were directly fixed on the well and bucket to draw water.
"Ahaa ... it's an empty bucket and the rope," he exclaimed. He happily began to hold the rope and swing the bucket into the well. But until the rope held in the hand almost arrived at the end, it felt the bucket remained empty, not touching the water in the well. So he made a harder effort. His body was curled down as his eyes stared hard trying to penetrate the darkness of the well while his hand was busy swinging the bucket. But still nothing touched by the bucket down there. Hot heat and heartfelt effort that was carried out many times made sweat pour down his clothes.
The student began to feel annoyed and irritated. His efforts many times and his desire not to give up but did not bring results as expected, made his emotions peak.
From a distance, the teacher watched the student act. With the patient's smile approached the student. Seeing the arrival of his teacher, the student immediately said loudly, "Teacher, I have tried to draw water but it looks like the well is dry. If this well is not runny, why does Master instruct me to take water? "
The teacher turned back asking, "How many times did you draw?"
The student answered with angry, "Many times. Just look at my shirt until it's soaked like this! "
The Teacher said again, "If you feel the well is empty, why should you continue to draw? You are angry, are not you? Your anger until you close your awareness and common sense? "PLAK! The student's head was hit by the teacher.
"Look to the side of the well, there is a water tap. Just opened the faucet, the water flowed. The teacher told you to take water near the well, not to draw in the well! "
As soon as the pupil's face went red ... he felt ashamed and felt so stupid because he had wasted energy and anger was out of place.
Often we are busy indulging in emotions and anger, blaming others and circumstances, for no apparent reason. Therefore, sometimes we need to get "awareness" (both of ourselves and others) to avoid ignorance and unwise mistakes. So, there is no need to regret it in the future which will burden our steps forward.
Greetings of success, amazing!
